About VPNPlox
VPNPlox is an independent comparison site that organizes public information about commercial VPN services so readers can compare price, privacy, and features more consistently.
What we do
VPN provider websites describe similar features in different ways and often emphasize strengths while leaving limitations hard to find. VPNPlox places 25 providers into a shared data model and presents the same categories for each one. The goal is to help readers make a shortlist, not to make the purchase decision for them.
Where the data comes from
Our records combine provider websites and pricing pages with publicly available materials such as audit announcements, audit reports where available, transparency disclosures, support documentation, and third-party review-platform data. Automated tools help collect and structure public pages, while the scoring rubric and editorial copy are maintained separately. Prices and features can still change between reviews.
What we do not claim
VPNPlox does not operate the VPNs it compares and does not have continuous access to every provider's private network. Unless a page explicitly says otherwise, feature and streaming entries describe published or collected provider data, not a guarantee from an in-house laboratory test. A VPN can behave differently by country, network, device, server, and date.
How rankings work
Each provider record contains an overall editorial rating and 18 supporting dimensions covering areas such as jurisdiction, audits, protocols, pricing, ownership, payments, support, and features. Use-case guides apply additional rules relevant to that guide. Our methodology page explains the inputs and their limitations.
How VPNPlox is funded
VPNPlox may earn money from Google AdSense advertising and from affiliate links to VPN providers. An affiliate link may generate a commission if a reader purchases after following it, at no additional cost to the reader. Advertising and affiliate availability do not change provider scores or ranking order.
Corrections and contact
If you find an outdated price, missing audit, incorrect feature, or broken link, please send us a correction with the provider name and a source URL. We review credible corrections and update the underlying record when the evidence supports a change.
